Hello there everyone! It's Nightingale.
As you know, it's my turn to post. I'm so glad that I get to kickstart our reviewing blog. So today I'll be reviewing Jurassic World, which, despite the short time it's been in theaters, I've already watched twice. My typical review consists of an age recommendation, MPAA rating, rating, and review, but Panda and Narwhal may have different ideas.
Age Recommendation
This movie is best for the 11-14 age group. Given its strong language, violence, and minimal kissing, plus its rating of PG-13, it may not be a great choice for a family movie night involving younger kids, but would definitely work for older tweens and teens looking to have a good time watching a movie with some friends.
MPAA Rating
PG-13
My Rating
4 stars
Review
This is a great movie, especially because of the amazing humor, but does have some downsides to it. It's such an action-packed movie, but sometimes it's a little hard to follow the plot. Everything is happening so fast-paced and may cause some confusion as to what's going on. I don't have anything else to critique.
If you do decide to watch this movie, keep in mind that some die-hard fans of the Jurassic Park franchise may not feel that this sequel lives up to the standards set by the critically-acclaimed, popular prequels. However, if you haven't watched the previous movies, it won't be too hard to grip on to the concepts, because Jurassic World is pretty self-explanatory.
It's definitely more frightening than the previous movies, and as the story unfolds the death count rises, including the deaths of some major supporting characters.
There is a small amount of drinking in the movie, including jokes about being "stoned," but not much. However, there is some heavy product placement for brands like Coca Cola, Starbucks, Apple, Mercedes, Verizon, Beats, etc.
I hope you enjoyed this review! Please do share your opinions about this movie, and give any other great movie recommendations you may have!
